Trip Recap: One-Way Ticket to Thailand
December 11, 2013
So thrilled to be in Asia, eating my first meal of I don’t know what that only cost me a dollar.
After meeting the Irish on my first day I decided to head down to the islands to meet up with them for the full moon party.
First I would head down to Koh Samui where I would spend a few days exploring on my own.
Getting on my first bus in Asia, and in Typical Thai fashion, it was 2 hours late.
One of the craziest experiences. Driving a motor bike on Koh Samui, playing chicken with cars and driving on the opposite side of the road for the first time.
The pretty side of the island
I can’t believe how tan I was. Enjoying the water after motor biking Koh Samui
Although it rained and was too cloudy to see many fish, we still had a blast in the warm water looking silly in our snorkeling masks
Having a blast jumping off the boat before returning home from out day at the Ang Thong national park
Kayaking through the caves of the Ang Thong national park
Probably one of my favorite memories of this trip, sitting around on the porch of our bungalow in Koh Pangange playing music, singing along and chatting while we drink.
One of the many pictures from the Full Moon Party. Its hard to see but the beach is PACKED with people in neon.
Just incase I forgot where I was staying

After Singapore Sarah and I headed back up to KL to catch a flight to Istanbul. After a crazy 18 hour layover in Saudi Arabia where we had our passports confiscated, we finally made it it Turkey.
We couch surfed the whole time we were in Istanbul, this is the view from our hosts apartment.

After saying goodbye to Sarah I flew to Budapest where I had a three day layover. Budapest is the first place I ever traveled outside the US and I lived there for 2 months. It will always have a special place in my heart.
Taking advantage of the downtime I had in BP I got to go to the Turkish Baths, something I wasn’t able to do last time I was here. It was absolutely fabulous.
Finally after 6 weeks of Skype calls everyday and talking non-stop, I made it to Ireland to give a relationship with Alan a real chance. The day I got there he asked me to officially be his girlfriend, I couldn’t have been happier.
